COVID Policies & Procedures

We want to thank everyone for your understanding as we work through this pandemic. We are excited to announce that Convent of the Sacred Heart School on the Upper East Side (406 East 91st Street, New York, New York 10128) is hosting all of our swim practices. There are a number of COVID policies and procedures to ensure social distancing that must be followed in order to remain in good standing, so we kindly ask that you familiarize yourselves with the below information.

Everyone attending practices at Sacred Heart must also familiar themselves with the Sacred Heart COVID Policies & Procedures (summarized below). Our very own Warren Perry has also created a safety video to walk everyone through the new policies and procedures.

Health Check

Before attending practices at Sacred Heart, everyone (including coaches and staff entering the facility) must complete the CrisisGo Health Questionnaire for COVID-19 contact tracing and symptoms reporting. Please note that the questionnaire requires you to provide Sacred Heart with your full name, telephone number and e-mail address for contact tracing. Please also note that the questionnaire should only be filled out on the day of your visit to the facility. After completion, you will receive a QR code. Starting on Saturday, September 18, Sacred Heart’s CrisisGo system will no longer automatically send out e-mails. Even if you were automatically receiving e-mails from the system to remind you to fill out the questionnaire before, you will no longer receive automated e-mails.

Upon entering the facility, you will be asked to show your QR code and submit to a temperature check. After your temperature check, you will be met by the TNYA Gatekeeper who will check you into the practice and assign you a lane. After you receive your lane assignment, you can then go into the locker room to change. We encourage everyone to arrive ready to swim, although this is not required. We will only have access to the facility 15 minutes before our practice starts.

Locker Rooms

If you need to use the locker rooms, only 30 people will be permitted in at a time. After you enter the pool, please bring your items out on the pool deck. Storing items in the locker room during practice is not permitted by Sacred Heart COVID policy. After practice, Sacred Heart also prohibits long showers in the locker rooms, but, if you would like to rinse off, please use the showers located outside of the locker rooms on the pool deck. Once you arrive on the pool deck, please place your personal items on the bleachers in the area that is designated to your specific lane. Please keep your mask on and remain six feet away from your fellow TNYAs until you are instructed to get into the water by the coaches. At full capacity there will only be six people per lane.

TNYA Coaching, Equipment & Practice Schedule

At Sacred Heart, our staff will be following Sacred Heart’s COVID policies & procedures (detailed above). Each practice will have at least one TNYA coach and one TNYA gatekeeper. Please keep an eye on the team calendar for coaching and gatekeeping assignments. Everyone will be required to bring their own equipment (flippers, paddles, buoys, etc.) to and from practice. The team will be unable to use or store any equipment at Sacred Heart at this time. A finalized schedule will be posted on our practice schedule calendar.

Please make sure that you are familiar with our reopening administrative policies & procedures practices. Make your reservation for a practice here. If you have any questions or concerns about our new COVID policies & procedures, reach out to us at: mail@tnya.org
