Matt grew up in Sudbury, Mass., and swam for both the Lincoln-Sudbury Warriors and Shawmut Aquatic Club in high school. He graduated from Connecticut College in 2013 (Go Camels!), where he was a senior captain of the swim team, NESCAC Championship finalist, and scholar in the college’s public policy program. His main events at Conn included the 50 and 100 freestyle, 50 and 100 backstroke, and freestyle relays.
As a sprinter, Matt enjoys any opportunity to fold in speed work, kicking, and breath control in his workouts. Having coached age-group swimmers at his local swim and tennis club throughout high school and college, he loves working with swimmers of all age groups and levels.
Matt currently lives down in Alphabet City, but gets the energy, motivation, and love he needs to start off his day from the amazing Tuesday/Thursday morning crew at John Jay.
