Edwin Roberts is a certified USA Triathlon Level I Coach, USA Swimming Stroke and Turn Official, NFHS and NCAA Swimming and Diving Referee, U.S. Masters Swimming (USMS) Level II Coach, Adult Learn to Swim Certified Instructor and has successfully completed the USMS Stroke Development Clinic for Coaches. He also has an MPA-PPA with a specialization in Emergency Management. Edwin has worked with Team New York Aquatics (TNYA) Masters since 2019, and is currently assisting with TNYA’s “Low Pressure Zone” Intermediate Swimming Clinic Program and coaching Speed Swimming sessions at Seahorse Fitness (LES) and Major Owens Health and Wellness Community Center (Bedford Armory).
During his first season in 2009, Edwin was captivated by swimming, triathlon, and other endurance events. He has since competed in open water swims and triathlons from short to middle-distances, and has especially enjoyed participating in challenging events against the backdrop of the city skyline: the Brooklyn Bridge Swim across the East River from Brooklyn to Manhattan, two-mile historic Governor’s Island swim, and the First Responders Division of the NYC Triathlon.
