Ed (Edwin) Roberts is a USA Triathlon Level I Certified Coach (Short Course) and Race Director, US Masters Swimming (USMS) Certified Coach, Open Water Safety Director and Adult Learn to Swim (ALTS) Instructor; USA Swimming Stroke and Turn Official, NFHS, and NCAA Swimming and Diving Referee. He is also a member of the American Swimming Coaches Association (ASCA), is Stroke School (Level II) Certified, and is recognized as a Swimming Strength and Conditioning Specialist (SSCS). He is also a graduate of the New York Cycle Club’s (NYCC) A – SIG and served as a Ride Leader for the A-SIG and B-SIG.

Ed has worked with Team New York Aquatics (TNYA) Masters since 2019. He is currently coaching Speed Swimming practices at Sacred Heart (Upper East Side in Manhattan) and Major Owens Health and Wellness Community Center (Brooklyn Bedford-Union Armory in Crown Heights, Brooklyn).

Ed has personally coached athletes and groups of all ages and abilities to a broad spectrum of event finishes from short and long course events up to century bicycle rides. He has helped several athletes attain personal records, transformations, and podium finishes. He started participating in endurance sports in 2009 and immediately took to the lifestyle. He has since completed open water swims and triathlons from sprints to 70.3 events. He has especially enjoyed participating in challenging events against the backdrop of the New York City skyline: the Brooklyn Bridge Swim across the East River from Brooklyn to Manhattan (x 2), the two-mile historic Governor’s Island swim (x 2), the First Responders Division of the NYC Triathlon (x 4) and cycling with a self-supported group across Europe and the West Coast of the USA.

Ed also coaches for the Brooklyn Triathlon Club as a triathlon swimming coach, and Hilton Swimming Dynamics (HSD), a US Masters Swimming registered club specializing in stroke development for beginners and seasoned athletes offering freestyle video stroke analysis with stroke correction (and construction) were indicated.
