From November 1, 2024, you will not need a USMS, USAAS, or USAWP membership to work out with TNYA.
We have previously mandated that all members have USMS membership so TNYA can benefit from derivative USMS insurance coverage. Moving forward, the Board has bought comprehensive insurance for TNYA outright, effective November 1, that covers all TNYA trial and full members.
If you are only buying a USMS, USAAS, or USAWP membership to work out with TNYA, you should not renew your membership past November 1, 2024.
You can (and should!) be a member of these organizations if you want to benefit from other perquisites of membership, which may include magazines, promotions, or the right to compete in official sanctioned meets and have your results be officially recorded. If you travel to other cities, other teams may require membership in one or more of these organizations as a condition of swimming with them. It’s just no longer required to be a part of, or work out with, TNYA.
We’ve set out our reasons for this change, and answers to frequently asked questions, in this FAQ.
